About

Central Easter Camp is a place where young people from across the Central region gather to encounter God, build meaningful friendships, and grow in their faith. Whether you’re a youth pastor, leader, volunteer, or teenager looking for a life-changing Easter weekend, this camp is for you.

To serve youth ministries in the Lower North Island through telling the Easter story and providing spaces to evangelize, disciple and build Jesus-centered communities.

As we relaunch in 2026, we’re rebuilding with purpose, prayer, and a renewed commitment to making Central Easter Camp a place where every young person feels welcome and every leader feels supported.

We’d love you to be part of it—whether by bringing a youth group, serving as a volunteer, or supporting the journey.
Together, we can create a camp that impacts young people for years to come.

Purpose

To serve youth ministries in the Lower North Island through telling the Easter story and providing spaces to evangelise, disciple and build Jesus centred communities.

Easter Story: The camp is about sharing the Good News of the Easter Story, and the new life that people can have through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus.

Evangelism: The camp is evangelical in nature, safe for youth to invite their friends.

Discipleship: The camp provides options for further discipleship of youth who already know Jesus.

Community: There is space to develop youth communities and wider regional connections too.

Participation: That youth pastors are part of the vision/culture of camp and that youth and youth leaders have spaces to participate within camp. E.g. testimonies, worship, games, other teams etc.

CULTURE

All about Jesus: Everything at camp is about Jesus and His kingdom. Our role is to give young people a foretaste of heaven.

Positivity: We are creating a culture of encouragement, affirmation and gratitude. We will assume best intentions. We honour people. We call out criticism, cynicism, gossip and put downs.

Unity and Partnership: We are better together. We will seek to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. Together our unity will show God’s kingdom to a divided world.

Humility and sacrifice: Camp is about Jesus and young people. We are there to serve and give Jesus the glory He deserves. There is no place for ego’s, agenda’s, pride or selfish motives.

Hosted by Baptists, serving the Kingdom: Easter Camps whakapapa back to Baptist roots, but exist to serve God’s kingdom. We will actively partner across denominational lines to see young people encounter Jesus.

We seek common ground: Easter Camp’s role is to point young people toward Jesus. We will seek to find the 99% that we agree upon, rather than the 1% where we differ. We will find ways for groups to express their difference in ways that are comfortable for all.

Honouring the bi-cultural journey: We acknowledge, honour and uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi, seeking to walk together in humility, reconciliation, and hope.
